FAQ
What if I’ve never done yoga before?
Welcome! We have designed a class just for you! B-Awakened is ideal for someone who has never practiced yoga, needs a refresh, or wants to perfect their poses. This class will introduce you to the fundamental yoga poses and breathing techniques. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each pose with clear step-by-step instructions in a supportive environment. In addition to building a solid foundation, you will gain confidence as you learn to listen to your body and discover how to modify poses to suit your unique needs.
What to wear?
You don’t need the latest yoga gear - you can wear comfortable clothing that won’t bind, or make you feel overheated. We recommend material that breathes, such as moisture-wicking synthetics, as most of our classes are heated - and you will sweat! Keep in mind that your skin may be slippery from perspiration; some people prefer leggings over shorts for this reason.
What do I need to bring ?
A sturdy yoga mat and a water bottle with ice water is all you need. For heated classes, you will want a towel to put over your mat so it is not slippery, as well as one to wipe your sweat. Don’t worry if you don’t have any of these things; we rent them at the front desk! We also sell yoga mats and towels. Ask us about our favorite brands!
What if I’m not flexible?
That’s OK! Little-known fact: being flexible is not required to come to any of our classes. Yoga is about accepting who you are in that moment and adjusting as your body needs. You can become stronger and more flexible over time with a regular yoga practice.
What is class etiquette?
Arrive early to give you time to settle in and get your spot. Doors open 30 mins prior to class.
Leave your shoes and cell phone in a locker or cubby to minimize distractions.
Respect others by honoring the sacred space, and keeping noise or talking in the yoga room to a minimum.
Listen to your body, as the heat can make a class more intense. During class you can always take a child’s pose or lay on your mat if you are feeling overheated or overwhelmed.
Clean up after yourself. Wipe down your mat, and any areas where you have been sweating. Return props back to their designated space.
Hydrate early and often. We suggest bringing ice water for heated classes.
Practice good hygiene and refrain from wearing perfumes and colognes.
Ask your instructor any questions you have before or after class.
HAVE FUN!
What if I don’t have a mat?
That’s okay; we got you! We have mats and yoga towels available for rent at the front desk. We are also happy to talk to you about our favorite brands, and all the amazing mats we have for sale.
Where do I park?
We are in a large shopping center with LOTS of parking. Be aware, however, that the parking directly in front of the studio can get congested - we prefer parking in the back, south of the studio, or by Dick’s Sporting goods. It is less congested to enter from the south or east of the studio.
Why B-Hive Yoga?

We are a community, a Hive that supports each other no matter where you are in your practice. We are a sanctuary where you can turn the world down, recharge, get out of your head and just B. Come join the Hive!
How do I get there?
We are in the heart of Salt Lake Valley and easily accessible from most parts of the city. We are conveniently located right off of I-215 on Fort Union Blvd in Midvale. Our address is 1086 E Ft Union Blvd, Midvale.
I have never been to a Hot Yoga class, what can I expect?
When you come in, you will be greeted and we will check you into class. You will want to leave your shoes, extra clothes, and cell phone, in a locker or cubby. From there, you can pick your spot in our heated room. In the yoga room, we appreciate your keeping talking to a minimum and respecting this sacred space. All of our classes are heated, with some hotter than others. We recommend hydrating before class and bringing a water bottle with ice water for hot classes. Once class starts, your instructor will start movements off slowly as they guide you through your breath and movement. At any time during the class, if you are overheated or overwhelmed, you are welcome to take the child’s pose or lay on your mat. Each class ends with stretching and a savasana or meditation. If you are new to yoga we recommend our B-Awakened class, which will take you slowly through the poses and is perfect to learn the basics. We are so glad you are here!
